The History of Our Church

Bible Church of Columbus grew out of the desire of a group of believers to fill a perceived void in our community.   Many churches moved away from traditional form of ministry and embraced ministry styles intended to make a church grow more relevant to  the American culture.  Our ever-changing culture, created a growing need for more churches which use more traditional, Bible-centered ministries.  Bible Church of Columbus was established to meed that need.  BCC was begun in June of 2007.  Under the leadership of Rev. Jerry Day, Sr., the first service was held on the corner of Lee & 17th Street.  In 2009, the members were able to purchase our current church facility and the first service was held there on June 21.

In 2014, the members of BCC voted to bring Rev. David J. Marvin back to Columbus to become the new Senior Pastor.  He began his ministry on June 1.

In 2018, the members of BCC accepted the challenge to trust God to provide the funds to pay off the mortgage on the building.  At that time, $150,000 was still owed, but by God's grace and the generous gifts of the congregation, the leaders of the church, in the presence of its members, were able to celebrate God's blessing by burning the mortgage in October of 2018.

As we entered 2020, the gathering of people was halted world-wide in an effort to avoid spreading the Covid-19 virus.  While churches across the country continue to struggle with getting everyone back, we continue to trust God and work through our mission statement.

"We exist to EXALT Christ, to EQUIP others to love Christ, and to ENGAGE others to serve Christ in this community and around the world."

Our Sunday morning worship services have up-lifting music that can be appreciated by all ages.  All of our music focuses on exalting God and supporting the message from God's Word on that given day.

To God be the glory as He continues to work through the people of Bible Church.
